NLC Students Study Abroad in Spain

The Spain 2018 Study Abroad program, May 19 - June 9, focused on immersing the students in the Spanish culture and language through homestays with host families in Seville, Spain combined with daily classes at the EUSA Campus of University of Seville. Additionally, weekend excursions to Cordoba & Cadiz were included. Students participated in a culminating visit to the Canary Islands during the final week to connect San Antonio's tricentennial celebration and history. A visit to the Universidad de La Laguna, Tenerife, Canary Islands and a meeting with ULL Vice-Chancellor of Internationalization, Ma Carmen Rubio Armendariz, reinforced efforts to create a bridge program between ULL and the Alamo Colleges District.
On-site instructors included Barbara Mayo from Northeast Lakeview College (NLC) and Pilar Damron from Northwest Vista College (NVC). Students also participated in an art appreciation course taught by Lloyd Walsh, Palo Alto College, via distance education.
