区1 - Joe Alderete, Jr.

Joe Alderete, Jr. is an intergovernmental affairs consultant who advises on a variety of city, 县, and state-related issues. A life-long resident of 圣安东尼奥, he has served his community in various capacities for 38 years. He served on the 圣安东尼奥 City Council for eight years, 从1977年到1985年, and has served on the boards of Catholic Charities, the 圣安东尼奥 River Oversight Committee, 西方基督教青年会, Assumption Seminary and the San Fernando Historic Civic Center Committee. He helped raise $3.5 million for Woodlawn Lake park and helped raise $2.8 million for the 西方基督教青年会.

He served as a member of the Bexar县 committee which passed the successful $500 million visitors tax for city/县 improvements at no cost to local taxpayers. He was Vice Chairman of the Fire and Police Pension Fund - City of 圣安东尼奥. His leadership roles have included serving as Chair of Earth Day for the City of 圣安东尼奥, Chairman of the Woodlawn Lake Planning Team, Chairman of the First City Conference of Neighborhood Associations and Vice-Chairman of the Bexar Appraisal 区.
